HEINZ MOELLER FREILE
He obtained the degree of Lawyer of the Courts of the Republic of Ecuador in 1962, from the University of Guayaquil (Universidad de Guayaquil) where he also obtained his degree as Doctor in Jurisprudence, receiving an honors award ("Premio Contenta") granted to the best student of the graduating class.

Founder, senior partner and president of the firm Moeller, Gómez-Lince & Cía since 1962. He was co-founder and faculty member of the university "Universidad Católica Santiago de Guayaquil" for the courses of History of Law, Trade Law and Corporate Law.

Professionally he has been legal adviser for the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security (Instituto Ecuatoriano de Seguridad Social), the Civil Aviation Head Office of Ecuador (Dirección de Aviación Civil del Ecuador), for the branch office in Guayaquil of the Ecuadorian Home Bank (Banco Ecuatoriano de la Vivienda), member of the Legal Commission of the Benefit Board of Guayaquil (Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil), as well as different corporations in the industrial, commercial, agricultural and agro-industrial areas. He has been legal counsel to different guilds in the productive sector, such as: National Chamber of Aquaculture (Cámara Nacional de Acuacultura), National Association of Cocoa Exporters (ANECACAO for its initials in Spanish), among others.

Dr. Moeller-Freile has served in the public arena for different democratic governments and was the President of the Honorable National Congress of the Republic of Ecuador 3 times during the 90's, Minister of Government and Police in 1988, Foreign Affairs Ministry from January 2000 to January 2003, a period during which he also was in charge of the Ministry of Foreign Trade for a year.

Today he has retired from the public arena and serves as legal counsel for different clients of the firm, especially in the Corporate area, specifically supervising mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and matters of national and international arbitration.
